Great job, ladies! Not only did you achieve last week's goal (125 soldiers), you blew it away! You completed 143 soldiers and their families!

Can you do it two weeks in a row? We're trying to get to 75% of the total sample complete (row 5 of the table above, not counting the heading row), so Dora has enough power in the sample to do some preliminary analysis, so she can get a new grant, so we can all keep our jobs.

Goals for this week:

Good = 125 soldiers (same goal as last week)

Great = 143 soldiers (the number we completed in the past week)

Gold star = 145 soldiers (exceed the number of soldiers we completed this week)

To achieve the great or gold star goals, each person will need to complete about 24 soldiers this week. Of course, people who work more hours will complete more soldiers. Set a personal goal based on the number of hours your work. Good luck! I think we can do it.

A goal for this week: Lets try to complete 125 RecIds this week. This is an ambitious goal, especially if we have a lot of large families to complete. This would require we each complete 21 soldiers this week. Of course the people who work more hours will be able to complete more soldiers than those who only work a few hours. Think of a personal goal that makes sense for the number of hours your work, and go for it.

I think we can do it. Good luck!

Mark soldiers complete in the database

This is just a friendly reminder that when you complete the work for the soldier and his descendants you need to mark the soldier complete in the VCC database.

When Coralee downloads data, she only downloads those soldiers whose status is complete. She just found 14 soldiers that should have been marked complete but were not. She had family trees for them, so she asked me to check if they were complete. Of the 14 soldiers, 10 were done by one person. The other four were done by two people. I've marked them all complete, so no one will have to go back to these families.

Fourteen really isn't that many out of hundreds, but it takes more time for me to go back and check that they are finished and mark them complete than it does for you to mark them complete when you finish the work.

More summer flowers

The flowers are still pretty, so I thought I'd post a few more photos. Also, a deer I saw this morning.
