New Screens!

We have started using the new screens now.  Everyone should have received a password and user name to get in.  For now we will only have access to the grid and the obit screen.  Heather G will be working on the update relations page and household view in the coming weeks, so eventually our screens will be very similar to what we had before.

There are a few things to be aware of for now.

1. The <Enter> button on your keyboard does not advance between fields but saves the record and goes immediately back to the grid.  Giles will attempt to turn this function off.  For now, remember to use Tab to advance between fields.

2. Auto advance does not currently work for dates and states, so you have to hit tab to advance after each entry.

3. The new screens require dashes in blank date fields (two in mm and dd and four in yyyy).

4. If you put your cursor on the dashes to enter a date, it will not let you enter anything until you either delete the dashes or highlight the dashes first.  If you Tab over to the date field, there is no issue entering dates.

5. Do not hit <Enter> while in the remarks field to create a new line.  Please use a semicolon (;) to separate various remarks.

6. Please use only one URL in a field.

If you have any questions regarding the screen, please send an email to Sandy.  If she cannot answer your question, she will notify Giles and/or add the issue to the google doc of screen issues.
